On Promises

Dear Friends,

Isn’t it beautiful that we have a God who does not break His Promises?
Who says what He will do, and does it?
Whose every word is one that we can trust?

I was thinking on this during our Sunday sermon at church. Our pastor was talking about how EVERY promise of God’s is “Yes” and “Amen” in Christ Jesus (2 Corinthians 1:20).beautiful

What does this really mean, you might ask? It means that we get to receive every promise God has made toward us because of what Jesus Christ did on the cross, dying for our sins. It means that, as children of the Most High God, we can dream big– and most importantly, yield and submit every aspect of our lives to Christ, proclaiming “let it be so.” The NLT version of 2 Corinthians 1:20 says:

“For all of God’s promises have been fulfilled in Christ with a resounding ‘Yes!’ And through Christ, our ‘Amen’ (which means ‘Yes’) ascends to God for his glory.”

Read more about the promises of Christ to us, here. Jesus is the God who has made a covenant with us, but it is not based upon our performance like the covenant He made with Moses! It is solely based upon who He is and His work upon the cross. He is a Promise-Maker, and most certainly a Promise-Keeper!

I have two songs in mind that worship Jesus and proclaim Him as a faithful Promise-Maker and Promise-Keeper, and I wanted to share them with you all today 😊 They are “Yes & Amen” by Chris Tomlin/Housefires, and “Confident” by Steffany Gretzinger.

This unchanging faithfulness of Christ and His Promises are what this blog was created from. As we await a positive change in the situations involving the remaining captive Chibok school girls and Leah Sharibu, may we look to our King, and praise Him for what He has done, is doing, and will do.

Love you all—have a blessed Sunday!

Annalee Hoover, ISAIAH 62 PRAYER MINISTRY

This post is in tribute to Brycen Zerby, an 8-year-old boy who was tragically killed after accidentally being ran over by his church’s float in a Harvest parade. His death hits close to my home, and his entire church, as well as the worldwide Church, is in deep grief over his untimely death.

This little guy loved Jesus. Please pray for his family, loved ones, and church family. We love you and can’t wait to see you in heaven, Brycen.

Do you know Jesus?

From the very beginning, God promised to save us from ourselves. He knew we would fall, and created a plan of redemption—sending God the Son, Jesus Christ, to die for the sins that we all committed.

This is a lot to take in. But here is the main takeaway: God has created the ONLY way to save you, and that is having faith in Jesus Christ, as Lord and Savior. Learn more about Jesus, what He has done, and why you need Him, here.

Please pray for…

  • Christ to save and free the remaining Chibok girls, and their children. May whatever needs to happen, happen for these women to be freed.
  • Jesus to save and free Leah Sharibu, soon. Pray that we and the Nigerian military would not give up the fight for her freedom!
  • Those who are grieving the loss of sweet Brycen Zerby. Pray that it brings the church closer to Jesus and to one another.

Thank you for your prayers!!
