Just A Thought

“The voice of the Lord is powerful;
the voice of the Lord is majestic.
5 The voice of the Lord breaks the cedars;
the Lord breaks in pieces the cedars of Lebanon.
6 He makes Lebanon leap like a calf,
Sirion[b] like a young wild ox.
7 The voice of the Lord strikes
with flashes of lightning.
8 The voice of the Lord shakes the desert;
the Lord shakes the Desert of Kadesh.
9 The voice of the Lord twists the oaks[c]
and strips the forests bare.
And in his temple all cry, “Glory!”
10 The Lord sits enthroned over the flood;
the Lord is enthroned as King forever.
11 The Lord gives strength to his people;
the Lord blesses his people with peace.”
(Psalm 29:4-10, NIV)

Reading this passage this morning, I was struck with how huge our God is. I have been realizing lately that sometimes I put things upon myself because I feel I am responsible for them—as if I were the Holy Spirit—when in reality Jesus is BIG enough to handle those issues that really have nothing to do with me.

Read the descriptions of God’s Voice. Our God speaks—and when He speaks, it is glorious. Majestic. Powerful. Mighty. When He speaks, we may not know it is Him at first, but we can trust Him to be clear with us.

May Christ show me and give me the discernment to know where to step in, and where to just let Him take care of it. He is Mighty; may we hear His Voice more and more on a daily basis, being careful to do His Will!
