The Real Conflict: Prayer for the Border Situation

It’s all over the news. Everywhere one looks, especially recently and in the political sphere of life, masses of people from Central America are now making their way to the wall between Mexico and the US—something that is filling people here in the states with a plethora of emotions and stark political views.

Without getting political on this blog, I just want to lift up a prayer. I want to pray for President Trump, as well as for Mexico’s new president, Andrés Manuel López, as they both need to make big decisions very soon concerning the masses of people now populating the Mexico/USA border. I want to pray for the families found in these masses, and for the soldiers who have been sent to enforce what the leaders of Mexico and the USA have decided.

Most of all, I want to pray against the anger, chaos, and political uproar that has consumed many of our day to day news broadcasts. Witout being a sensationalist, it is important to understand the truth: the real fight is not between men, but is a spiritual war.

“For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.”
(Ephesians 6:12, NIV)

Ephesians 6 speaks about spiritual warfare– something you can read more about in a serious of blogposts I put out, here.

Whether or not things are “staged” (as many people believe), this amount of animosity is horrific, and the fight goes deeper than we think. As Americans, and furthermore as Creations of God, we must somehow unite… and that can only happen when we put on our spiritual armor, getting ready for the fight against humanity’s true opponent: satan. This can only happen when Jesus is King of Kings in a situation.

“For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.” (Isaiah 9:6, NIV)

Do you know Jesus?

Two thousand years ago, God stepped into this messy, hateful, dark world, to save the humanity that rejected and ran from Him. Learn more about Jesus, and all that HE did, here.
