Giving to Open Doors

“Is not this the kind of fasting I have chosen: to loose the chains of injustice and untie the cords of the yoke, to set the oppressed free and break every yoke? Is it not to share your food with the hungry and to provide the poor wanderer with shelter— when you see the naked, to clothe them, and not to turn away from your own flesh and blood? Then your light will break forth like the dawn, and your healing will quickly appear; then your righteousness will go before you, and the glory of the Lord will be your rear guard. Then you will call, and the Lord will answer; you will cry for help, and he will say: Here am I.”
(Isaiah 58:6-9, NIV)

Hey, Friends.

I was scrolling through my Facebook feed, when I saw an ad for the charity Open Doors, which helps Christians in unsafe places all around the world. I was tempted to just scroll by it, but the Holy Spirit reminded me to not turn from the poor, but instead, to help them, as the passage in Isaiah 58 states.

Now, I know that this is the Holy Spirit’s guiding in my own personal life, but I thought I would share the link for donation in case you too would like to help out this amazing charity (I looked them up on Charity Navigator; they are 3/4 stars– see it here).

As 2018 comes to a close, let us keep our eyes on Christ, and continue to love and serve those He has given us to love and serve.
