So that You and Your Children Might Live

Hello, all. I couldn’t believe it when I found out that our country is now able to kill full-term babies in New York, and quite possibly in Virginia and other states as well.

In response to this news, I wrote a poem– based off of Deuteronomy 30. I pray it blesses and inspires you to pray over those making these barbaric decision… we need Jesus now more than ever.

“See, I set before you today life and prosperity, death and destruction. 16 For I command you today to love the Lord your God, to walk in obedience to him, and to keep his commands, decrees and laws; then you will live and increase, and the Lord your God will bless you in the land you are entering to possess. …This day I call the heavens and the earth as witnesses against you that I have set before you life and death, blessings and curses. Now choose life, so that you and your children may live.”
(Deuteronomy 30:15-16, 19, NIV)

I want to hug them.
Hold their shivering little bodies,
protect them from the cold, sterile doctor’s table

I want to defend their names
in the courtroom
Be their voice, as they can only cry out.

Thief, you came to steal heartbeats,
kill and destroy destinies,
step upon the necks of the innocent

Mothers scared to death,
literally,
deciding to make them all “go away.”

Choice? What about a voice?
I see many marching against these precious people,
screaming and chanting.

But she? She is quiet in the womb,
unbeknownst to her
what will happen soon.

Doctor, a question:
Do they cry as they are killed?
Have you ever heard
them protest as you dismember their little bodies?

Doctors, politicians, one thing needs no questioning:
Even now, Jesus is pursuing your heart.

You are not too far away
from forgiveness
and repentance,
–to be held in His arms.

He is the Only Way to life:
“Now choose life, so that you and your children may live.”
