Lately, it has been hard to stay positive on this blog in the midst of so many prayer needs and tragedies. But that does not mean that there is no hope or peace to be found.
We have brothers and sisters who love Jesus so much that they are willing to die for Him. Soldiers in Nigeria who are facing, and conquering, Boko Haram (no matter how “little” the victories are). There is reason for hope in these circumstances… but they are not the true wellspring for hope that lasts.
“What’s the reason, then?” You might ask. It’s honest, especially when you look all around you.
My friend, our reason for Hope—and our Hope itself—is in Jesus.
“…but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.”
(Isaiah 40:31, NIV)
Our hope is not in our circumstances; if it was, we would be on one heck of an emotional and mental rollercoaster. No.
Our Hope is in the changeless God, Jesus Christ. And we can only have this Hope when our minds and hearts are fixed upon Him.
“Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things.”
(Colossians 3:1-2, NIV)
So, fix your eyes, your tired, weary eyes, on Jesus, my friends. Give Him your heart. Rest in His Love. And, no matter how tragic this world gets, may you have Hope in His Name.
Do you know Jesus?
Jesus came down to this earth 2,000 years ago, to give us a future and a hope through His actions, on the cross at calvary. Learn more about Jesus, and what He did for you and for me, here.
Please pray for (find the prayer sheet here)…
- Christians all over the world (including ourselves), that they would be and keep themselves fixed upon Jesus.
Thank you for your prayers!!!
