A Thought on Jesus’ Vulnerability

“Whoever has my commands and keeps them is the one who loves me. The one who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I too will love them and show myself to them.”
(John 14:21, NIV)

Looking at this scripture, it becomes clear to me: Jesus chooses to be vulnerable, but only with those who love (obey) Him. He knows that His Love is what every heart needs, yet we can only know His Love by choosing to love Him back by obeying.

I’m not saying we can only approach God by doing works; it is by Grace we are saved! Yet God (Christ and the Father as Jesus mentions here, as well as the Holy Spirit) shows Himself to those who will truly seek Him.

Question: where are you not letting Jesus in? (I’m typing this as I think about it, so feel free to comment if you think my thoughts here are out of line.) May we know Jesus more and more and show our love for Him more and more through obedience… and only obey out of the true vulnerability and Love Jesus gives. ❤

As said before, we do not become saved by anything we do; we become saved based on what Jesus did. Learn more about Jesus, and His work done on the cross for you, here.
