There are no words for the anger and sadness I have felt over the death of George Floyd.
There are petitions to sign. Signs to hold up. Fingers to point blame at. But, in all of this– no matter how cliche it sounds– the best thing we can do is pray.
Pray that police officers value human life more.
Pray for complete, whole Justice towards those who did this.
Pray that the family members and loved ones of George and those like him would be comforted by Jesus.
Pray for an end to all of this—and for Jesus to come back soon.
This is not a rhetorical question: how can we, as Christians, act for justice in this situation and situations like it? Do you know of a petition, protest, or anything else we can do to make sure this never happens again? I desperately want to know.
There are no words to describe the pain felt, but thankfully we have a God who understands our tears. May we, the worldwide Church, hug those in pain and lift them up to the Father.
Do you know Jesus?
Heaven is a place where every tear will be wiped away. Will you be there? It all depends on your belief in Jesus Christ. Learn more about Him, here.
