I cry.
I cry on the inside,
tears almost brimming
when I think about
your third birthday,
spent in captivity.
May 18th, 2020–
Have people forgotten
your strong stance
against satan,
against fear,
against terror?
How you
have loved
our God.
I have been reminded.
Father, let Leah
always be bright,
shining like the sun,
in such a dark place
as Boko Haram’s captivity.
Bless this 17-year-old, Jesus.
Bless her and bring her home.
It is in Your Mighty, Powerful Name
