Prayer for the Bloodbath Happening in Nigeria

“Don’t cry. Don’t worry. But thank God for everything.”

These words come from Pastor Lawan Andimi, a man who was kidnapped by Boko Haram members and later beheaded.

I don’t know what to say, except that I pray that I’d have the amount of faith and peace from Christ that Pastor Andimi did in those circumstances. And it’s not just him undergoing persecution: according to an ACLJ petition, at least 620 innocent people have been killed by Fulani Herdsmen and Boko Haram in 2020 alone in Nigeria. Shot, beheaded, hacked to death– they are undergoing these horrific things because they love and know Jesus as their Lord and Savior.white box

Will you please pray with me for our brothers and sisters in Nigeria, who are undergoing such hardship?

“Dear Lord Jesus,
We come to You on behalf of our brothers and sisters in Nigeria, especially those going through persecution. We ask that You would stop this horrific violence to our brothers and sisters, and would protect them during times of pain and violence. Father, please let them know that You are right there by their side. Work on their behalf, and show Yourself strong on their behalf.

Please bless those who are mourning the death of Pastor Andimi with comfort and strength. Give the mothers of Boko Haram captives hope, strength and peace. Let them know that this will not go on forever.

Jesus, we ask all these things in Your Name. Amen.”

Do you know Jesus?

Pastor Andimi loved Jesus, and proclaimed His Name to his death– but Jesus Loved, pursued, and rescued us first. Learn more about Jesus and the work He has done for you, here.
