On August 2nd, 2020, over 200 refugees coming back to their homes were snatched up by Boko Haram and now are held hostage by the terrorist group (source). Some are even feared to be dead.
They were excited and relieved to be home… but that was taken away from them, again.
Many thoughts flood my mind, but one important one is this: Jesus is fighting for His People. Anyone in this group of hostages is not only in a physical war wrought with bombs and guns, but even more so in a spiritual war.
Jesus Loves us and is fighting for those who love Him.
“The eyes of the LORD search the whole earth in order to strengthen those whose hearts are fully committed to him.”
(2 Chronicles 16:9, NLT)
Why is He allowing this awful thing? We can’t try to find a reason… all we can do is rest on the promises of Jesus, that He will continue to fight for His kids in this horrific situation.

“Dear Jesus,
You see and know every single person in captivity right now, and You know the terrorists too. We pray in Your Holy and Mighty Name that You would free these people soon and restore all they have lost. Please bring members of Boko Haram to know You as well.
Thank You dear Jesus.
In Your Name we pray,
Amen.”
