The Day of the Girl Child 2020

Today, October 11th, is the day of the Girl child. When I think of the remaining Chibok girls—as well as all of the evils that go on in this word toward girls—my heart is stirred to be an advocate and to shine light on everything they are going through.

Jesus Himself spent time with women as his disciples, such as Mary Magdalene. He also rose up for the equality of women in His Kingdom (Galatians 3:28). He took the women charged for a adultery and kept her from being killed. Women are obviously very important to Christ.

Would you, with me, pray over these girls, and share this to anyone you know to bring attention to the girls?

“Dear Jesus,
All people—including young women—are made in Your Sight. We pray now, Lord Jesus, that You would bring to justice all the evil done to girls. You have raised us up to fight for them, to advocate for them, and most importantly, to pray for them. Help us to do what You say in Proverbs: “Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves, for the rights of all who are destitute. Speak up and judge fairly; defend the rights of the poor and needy” (Proverbs 31:8-9). We lift these women to You; show us good places to donate our time and money to, so that we may help in a practical way.
In Your Name we pray,
Amen.”

If you want to help the Chibok girls and those in Chibok in general, God led me to create a sort of database of nonprofits that help those who need it. To give to Christian organizations for the betterment of women, click here.

There are many ways, both spiritually and practically, to support the girl child. Thank you for all you do!!
