“#BringBackOurBoys”: Boko Haram takes 333 Boys Captive

It grieves my heart to say this. On the night of Friday, December 11th, 2020, 333 young boys were kidnapped from their school in Katsina state, Northwestern Nigeria. Boko Haram took responsibility for the crime today, Tuesday, December 15th. This is “signaling that Shekau’s reach has shifted nearly 500 miles west” from his original place of action, something that sends the message that he is seemingly growing in power (source).

Abubukar Shekau, one leader of Boko Haram

That is not all: Boko Haram attacked a town in Diffa, Niger, which claimed 28 lives and burned down 800 buidings. It is obvious that Boko Haram is doing much more than the public around the world first knew.

There are still 115 young women– apart of the “Chibok girls” kidnapping and “#BringBackOurGirls” campaign– still somewhere out in a place only God knows. This scary news, that Boko Haram has now done the same thing to a group of boys as they have the Chibok girls, deserves just as much recognition, prayer, and action. Boko Haram usually forces boys to become soldiers, killing people against their own will or facing death. These boys are then in danger of going to prison for their crimes if they are found, evaluated to see if they have loyalty to Boko Haram.

There is no time to waste. Darkness has not taken a break, and neither can we. Please, join me in prayer for their release!!! 🔹

Do you know Jesus?

Though it seems like everything is crazy, God is in control– and He is Good. Learn more about Jesus, who is God, and what He did for you and I, here.
