All across the country, especially in California, churches are being mandatorily shut down. The many churches that have defied this command, like Calvary Christian Fellowship (CCF) in San Jose, California, have exorbiant fees to pay for staying open– to the tune of two million dollars.
These men are simply trying to obey Hebrews:
“And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.”
(Hebrews 10:24-25, NIV)
Some pastors have even been held in contempt of court. Whatever your opinion on this is, these pastors and shepherds to the flock of God need prayer, support, and encouragement. Will you please pray with me for them?
Do you know Jesus?
These men are trying to shepherd the flock, but ultimately, it is Jesus who is the Good Shepherd. Learn more about Him here.
Please pray for…
- These pastors. Mike McClure is the pastor of Calvary Christian Fellowship, and Carson Atherley is the Youth Pastor. They have both been fined for continuing to keep their doors open. Pray for encouragement, support, and for the powers that be to favor the churches being opened.
- Those who are going without church right now. Those who are lonely, afraid, and hurting need the Church, and need fellow believers. Pray they would have these things.
- Those in power. Pray that they would know Christ and would choose to let the churches become fully opened.
Thank you for all your prayers.
