    Love Costs Everything

    When reading about Pearl Harbor, it strikes me just how tragic and completely evil it was. 2400 Americans died; 1700 were injured.

    And that is not even to mention the loss of life on Japan’s side. War is a horrific thing, a thing that I believe breaks God’s heart. But while our sin caused such darkness, Jesus came to bring light to the world.

    This day, commemorating Pearl Harbor, let’s honor those Americans who lost their lives for the freedom of our country. But let us also remember how, at this time and Advent season, we can worship a Savior who gave everything for us. I suppose you could summarize both Pearl Harbor and even more so, Jesus’ first coming, as this: Love costs everything.
