“This is the day that the Lord has made;
(Psalm 118:24)
let us rejoice and be glad in it.”
Friends, my heart is so full.
It has taken 8 years, but four more Chibok girls have been freed.
As Voice of the Martyrs has reported, 6 young women have been found and freed. Two of the women were freed in June. Aisha Grema, one of the girls, has been found with her four year old child– and for some reason that makes me emotional. Not only did these women suffer under the thumb of Boko Haram, but they had children with their captors. Yet, these children are not burdens or mistakes.
Jesus knew these children would be born. He knew the pain these girls would go through. Some things have taken time, and look bad for a while before they look good. But Jesus has been faithful, friends. So faithful. I am so full of joy and relief for these girls! I am so relieved that they have found freedom from captivity!
I want tonight to be a night of celebration. But I also want it to be a night of prayer for these newly freed young women. Prayer that they assimilate well into their communities. Prayer that they would heal and be comforted in any of their trauma. But most of all, that they and their children would know Jesus.
Let’s pray. Let’s celebrate the God who Loves these young women. And let’s pray for many more to be freed, soon.
In Christ,
Annalee, ISAIAH 62 PRAYER MINISTRY
