Today, at church, we talked about how Jesus is coming back soon. In Revelation 22:12-13, Jesus speaks some of His last words.
“Look, I am coming soon! My reward is with me, and I will give to each person according to what they have done. 13 I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End.”
(Relevation 22:12-13, NIV)
The verb tense in “coming soon” does not refer to Him coming soon in the future tense, but in the present tense! God lives outside of time, and so Jesus is coming soon, right now!
What are you doing, knowing that Christ could come at any moment? That is the question I faced as my pastor spoke. I know I have this blog– and sometimes, I get tired of blogging and choose to do other things (which is not inherently sinful, don’t get me wrong!). But Jesus has given me this gift of blogging, has given me the ability to write, and most of all, the Power of the Holy Spirit leads me in what to write as I pray before and am open to His Leading.
I want to be faithful to what Jesus has given me. That is why I write this post. Jesus has given me a huge love for the people of Nigeria, and a way to express that love by praying for them. Please pray for our brothers and sisters in Nigeria: especially the widows and orphans, as James speaks about (James 1:27). He is coming to make all things right, and to help these vulnerable people.
Ask Jesus what He would want you to spend your days doing for His glory. He is coming back soon!
With Love, in Christ,
