Remembering those that Fight for Freedom

According to many sources, 1, 773 people of the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF) have lost their lives in the fight against Boko Haram and ISWAP (Islamic State – West Africa Province) between 2012 and 2022. I would like to write, even if only briefly, about these men and women to honor their memory.

While not everything is known about these soldiers, they originated with only a few people with sticks, adamant to get rid of Boko Haram (source). They have done more than enough in the fight against terrorism– doing everything from fighting Boko Haram and ISWAP back into the forests of Northern Nigeria, to hugging suicide bombers and giving their lives so that they didn’t hurt as many people. These people are the epitome of brave and selfless warriors.

But the fight is not over. We must pray for the people giving their lives for their loved ones– both official soldiers and the CJTF. They need encouragement, and to know that their blood, sweat, and tears are not shed in vain. Will you pray with me for these people?

Dear Father God,
Thank You for each and every person who is apart of the fight against Boko Haram. May they know that they matter and that they are making a difference. May they be encouraged and strengthened by You, Father. Protect them, and give them wisdom. Bless them Father, and most of all, bring them to know Jesus as their Lord and Savior.
In Jesus’ name we pray, amen.

Let’s continue to pray for these brave people. Thank you for your love, prayers, and soldarity with the people of Northern Nigeria.

In Christ,

Annalee, ISAIAH 62 PRAYER MINISTRY

Do you know Jesus?

Jesus gave it all so that we would no longer be oppressed. He said, “Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends” (John 15:13). Learn more about how Jesus gave it all for you and I here.
