Family, my heart is breaking tonight.
6 people dead in the wake of a school shooting in Nashville. Tornadoes in Alabama and Mississippi ripping through homes and buildings. Shootings happening near my home.
Watching such carnage fills me with tears. What are we going to do?
I am not going to get political here. That is not the purpose of this post.
As I prayed over these tragedies, I remembered what I learned at church just yesterday, 3/26: That the God found in the Bible is the God of All Comfort.
“Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, 4 who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God.”
2 Corinthians 1:3-4, NIV
We can do a lot of things in reaction to these events. But the best thing we can do? Come to Jesus. He is the God of All Comfort, coming to comfort us in our pain and struggle so that we might be filled with comfort, able to comfort others.
I have been through a lot. But I have realized that Jesus is the best Comforter in this entire world. We need Him, and then, after we have recieved comfort from Him, we need to come to eachother.
May we run to Jesus.
Love to you guys.
In Christ,
Annalee, ISAIAH 62 PRAYER MINISTRY
