At the Parents Summit of the 2023 Education Week in Edo State, Nigeria, Matthew Kukah spoke about the “people of darkness” who have kept Nigerian children from getting an education.
Kukah, the Catholic Bishop of Sokoto Diocese, described how the recent wars and insecurity have kept so many from the simple blessing of being able to learn and progress in school.
It’s very true– the children of Norther Nigeria have lost so much, one thing being their chance at an education. They have lost not only this, but so much more, their security, loved ones, and in many cases, freedom.
Please pray with me over these people, especially the children of Northern Nigeria. May terrorists and other “people of darkness” be brought to justice, and may these children not only learn about this world, but about Jesus’ Love.
Father God, we thank You for the blessing of an education. We pray in Jesus’ Name that You would heal Northern Nigeria, and bring so many people there to You. Let them learn the things that will bless them, including all about Your Love.
In Jesus’ Name we pray, amen.
