I just wanted to share this article with you from GPB today. It documents photos of children, in some of the scariest and most crime-ridden places in the world, playing together. They are admirable, in that they are not allowing the war and pestilence to keep them from experiencing joy. It reminds me of Philippians 4.
“Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! …Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things. 9 Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me—put it into practice. And the God of peace will be with you.”
(Philippians 4:4, 8-9, NIV)
Their joy, and this passage from Philippians 4, has shown me that we can rejoice– even in the suffering and unknowns. I hope it inspires you, too.
